DIRT Tax

I recently put away some money into a 3 yr scheme at a certain percentage rate. Now the bank failed to mention there would be a DIRT tax on it. Am i supposed to know this or wasnt it there duty to mention it to me before i agreed to proceed?? I'm totally peed about this.

Go use the state saving products or be over 65 if you want to avoid.

ya but you wont get the small print until they send it out in the post like a week later in the official documentation. should they not have mentioned it on the day to me when i was setting it up?

They don't "mention" it because it always applies, it's normal. It will definitely be in the legal stuff you sign.
