Using US Wii and peripherals in Ireland

I'm moving back to Ireland from the US in a few months. Currently going through my stuff to see what to sell/discard/bring. I have a Wii and balance board which is about four years old. Will it work in Ireland? - is there a switch to change the voltage or will it auto-detect 220v and maybe I would just need a plug adapter?

I'd avoid getting a plug adapter, as most of the simple adapters don't have the step down functionality that you'd need.
But the good news is that if you can simply get your hands on one of the Wii power blocks / transformers, then you should be able to swap that out without any issues. If you want to get/play games from here, then you could soft-mod your Wii to enable it to play games from any region too.

    Good to know. Thanks!

wiimotes, fit board, etc. are regionless.
    games are region locked.

You can bring the Wii with you and just buy an Irish power supply, can't see it costing too much somewhere like ebay or amazon.co.uk.
Games are region locked though as someone said. Stock up on a few before you come over maybe.
