Staying in Hotel at Debs!

Don't know if AH is the right forum for this but I might get some interesting answers :P

My girlfriend's having her Debs next year, so planning a bit ahead here. I want to stay the night wherever their having it, and was wondering have any of you nice people ever stayed in the hotel after the debs  After my own debs last year we were kicked out of the bar at 4 and sent home :( I would love to stay the night, because the day would be so long, and would want to *ahem "get a night's rest" without the bus journey home from the hotel. I've heard it's not possible to stay in the hotel even if you have the money?

I don't have the money now, and may get a B&B, but just saying we are adults and it shouldn't be a problem...should it?? :o

    Ya dorty divil ya'

I stayed in a hotel just down the road from where mine was, as did most of my friends. Easiest solution in my opinion.

    Could be worse young laddy.

You could have plenty of money for the hotel and no hope in hell of getting the ride.:(:pac:

As far as I know OP under no circumstance will any of the Debs hotels allow you to stay the night afterward, despite having taken your money at the bar all night :) Unless, its fairly shady dive of a place.

Dont bother asking your folks to book either as again, most of the hotels will advise people booking a room for that particular will not be allocated to any student and their partner. I know several parents who tried on behalf of their offspring and were warned in advance,

Call a few now and ask, Im sure they will tell you the same

I stayed in a hotel in Cork recently where there was a debs on. As it turns out quite a few parents / students had just made online bookings without saying anything.

All of them were given a full refund when attempting to check in and were told under no circumstances were they staying in the hotel.

EDIT : not too sure what they could do if someone booked AND checked in for you though, just pass over the key. You'd get caught in the morning no doubt but hey...you're leaving anyways

I stayed in the red cow about 7 years ago at my now wife's debs. Was never asked if we were at the debs or not. Why would they refuse to rent a room to 2 adults on a night when few others would want to book the rooms?

I stayed in a hotel for the two debs I went to, I cannot recommend this enough! Make sure you book the hotel that the debs is on, At the first debs we stayed at a different hotel and found out at 4 in the morning the front doors were locked! Luckily a cleaner left us in when I showed the room card. Second time was in the same hotel as the debs and just went straight up as soon as the music stopped.

Just book it a week in advanced if your worried and make sure to check in during the day if you can, it saves hassle and they wont know if your in the debs party. Don't bring anybody else up to your room apart from your misses as they'll just get you kicked out. Now all you have to do is last another year with your girlfriend and your sorted!

My OH and I stayed in the hotel where his debs was on that night, no problems at all. That was nearly fifteen years ago though, is it a new thing to not allow drunk horny teenagers with money to stay in hotel rooms?

It's a disgrace is what it is.

The hotel might make too much profit! Oh no. What could it possibly do with more money? The stress.

It'll probably be a B&B so, not risking saving up for a hotel room and having to be turned away. I don't drink btw and neither does the GF haha so we won't be mouldy :P Are B&Bs a nice place to stay? Only was in one in France and half way through the night a light aircraft crashed into the back garden :( Wasn't great fun!! I was only 7 at the time!

I think the Hotel check the cams to see if two teens are going up the stairs and act accordingly. I think they are more afraid of some teenager doing drugs in the room overnight, and are just wary of any of ye dying on there premises. I think that is why its so strict now. Also if someone where to choke to death after a night of huge drinking, they dont want that on their hands either.

My daughter had hers at a Hotel in Meath, and there was no way in here any of them were getting up the stairs. The few cute hoors, who sneaked up, were caught on camera :) They well well aware of all the tricks :)

Most of those who did book, were also refunded on the night. So just be careful you dont get stranded in the middle of the night without a room.

Better to check with them now and find out their policy.

Dunboyne Castle, Meath is where my daughter had hers a few years ago

Unless you want your hotel room to turn into a mini-knocking shop I'd keep it to yourself.

Don't know yet tbh :( I hope I get to know a week before. I was on holidays in Europe for the first time in ages last year and my friend asked me who I was bringing to the debs. Then I realised it was the next day :( Disaster :( Luckily my ferry home was the next day so we raced back to Kildare, found a nice suit and a girl all in the same day :) But the night wasn't so great :( Spent the whole thing looking after my mate who was mouldy(the experience of which made me stop drinking myself!) The best thing was I had found the girl the day of the debs and she had a dress and all :P Dunno why though??

what do you mean UNLESS ??
its every teenagers duty to turn it into a knocking shop !!!

3 in the bed - one giving head , the other two getting bendy - roll over , roll over

Why are hotels so strict about not letting debs students stay the night in the hotel? Is it because they don't want drunk people making a mess or noise or something? If they've already agreed to have a debs at all I don't see why they can't extend it a bit.
