Hi lads I sold a car, it was awkward sale logbook was lost off my own car, I swapped that car with another person he gave me his car but held onto his logbook until mine was replaced. The agreement was once I got my logbook replaced I would post it to him so he could sign it and he would sent both logbooks off together.Date of sale was 1st of September so I signed and dated it that date I have just been motortax online to check was it transferred it has but date of sale is now the 24th of September over 3 weeks!!!.

I have had no speeding fines or anything do ye think I can expect one and if I do what do I do?

I hope you don't. Based on you post it will be hard for anybody to follow what you are telling them.
Did you sell the car or swap it?
Did you take a car as part payment?
Is the car you sold/swapped the same car you refer to as "my own car"?
Did you give a dated receipt?
Did you transfer insurance on date of sale?

Yeah sorry I thought it looked a bit mixed up alright.

I swapped my car (Car A) with his car (Car B)

Both cars should have date of sale as 1st sept as we signed them both as the 1st of Sept.We only had logbook for car B when we done the deal/swap.Car A's logbook arrived nearly a month later but I signed and dated the same date as car B.I then posted him car A's logbook the car I gave him, but has altered the date to the 24th 21 days after the sale/swap of the car.

I think you would be ok. If he altered the date and you received fines for the preceeding period then it could be argued that he altered the date to avoid fines. Don't know if there is anyway tp find out if there are any pending fines before you actually receive them. Maybe someone else here can helps
For peace of mind you could write to the Vehicle Licensing authority and advise them of the incorrect date. This would at least give you a record. I would send it be registered post.
    Good luck anyway.
