Missing FTA

    Hi,
My wife noticed some of her FTA channels, mostly shopping, seen to have gone???
Such as Gems TV, The V channel, Paver shoes etc etc. I have not checked to see what else is missing.
This is on a Technomate FTA box.

I have also checked these channels in the Non-Freesat mode of my Humax HDR and also gone. Did a re-scan on the Humax and they did not reappear, so just wondering if the have gone altogether?

Should mention that Gems is on Freesat ok.

Thanks, just trying to keep the peace.............:)

    TC.

Your box can only tune in the stations its programmed for. Most stations that have moved are on brand new transponders, they will need to be programmed into your box. Alternatively, if you can blind- or network-scan, this should pull them in.

on some fta boxes, you have to delete the old non working channels first before scanning.

    Thanks for info radiowaves.
Makes sense, if it's not there, it can't be found.
On the tuning menu there is an option "network on/off", not really knowing what it was I left it in the default mode, "off". Should I change that to "on" and would it sort my issue?

    Thanks,

    Tony.

Yes, Tony, change to ON. What it tells the receiver to do is find all channels under a certain network - in this case Sky (and Freesat).

It should find the missing channels.

You will need to enter transponder details manually so, I'm afraid.

    Thanks for help radiowaves.

Re-tuned Humax FTA, much easier, and took note of transponders and entered into Technomate and all seems ok now.

Just wondering, as the TM is about 5 years or so old, (TM3150D, also have a TM5200D in a bedroom, same era), both work fine so do not want to dump, there must be a lot of transponders on these not in use any-more, can they be deleted so when doing a full scan they only scan the relevant transponders?

    Cheers,

    Tony.

Most transponders are in use, simply search for fta only and the box will automatically skip any scrambled channels so it wont take as long to tune in.

Those TMs he has are standard def. models. A lot of tps will have gone HD in the last few years, so he might as well delete them.
