    Hi guys,

Not sure if its exactly the right forum, but couldn't find anything better. Basically I want to get a basic mixing desk, all I need it to do is to voice record, and have 2 Mic inputs - it'll never be more than 2 people talking at once. wondering if anyone could recommend the best 'budget' parts for something like this that I will need. For example I was looking at this? Can I connect two mic's and 2 sets of headphones to this for a recording? Any advice appreciated on this as as to everything else I'd need.

You won't be able to connect two sets of headphones unless you use a splitter. What kind of mics are you using? Ideally you should get a USB interface which would negate the need for a seperate audio feed back into your PC/laptop.

I haven't bought anything yet. I can use a professional setup most days but I want something I can use at home for recording spoken audio (say, like a discussion panel of 2 people), so I wanted to get a mini mixing desk, two mic's, and two headphones - no idea what to get though!

This would be suitable although might be more than you are willing to spend.

It's USB powere and the audio is also fed through the USB. It comes with two mic inputs (XLR and 6.3 mm inputs). Also ships with recording software. Regarding the two headphones I doubt you'll find any small interface that has two seperate headphone outs. Of course you could always have the second headphones coming from the laptop.

Or use a multi-output headphone amp:
