    Audi A4 B7 Wiper Arm Replacement
    ===========================
    Is it worth paying someone to do this? I've heard it's an awful job to get them off.

    Also, is this something that the NCT testers will even notice?

    Whats wrong with the old arms ?

    It's not that hard a job at all. Remove the cap and nut and apply a little WD40,leave sit for a few minutes then remove the arms (remove them with the arms folded up and away from the windscreen) , you will need a bit of brute force to remove them rocking them back and forth will help (rock them towards the front of the car and then back towards the windscreen, not from one side of the car to the other)

    They don't seem to be applying pressure to the blades any more and the windscreen is not getting wiped. It clears the screen on the upstroke, but then covers it in moisture again on the downstroke.

    Looks like you need blades and not arms.

    I've replaced wiper blades already, it seems like the joints seizing on the arms is a regular issue with A4s.

    Arms are a very common problem on those A4s alright.

    You can try to remove them yourself using the method described by tossy above but sometimes they just won't budge. Most garages will have a small puller type tool for removing wiper arms so if you can't get them off yourself then leave it to the professionals.

    i changed mine recently too from the standard type arm to the b7 aero style, driver side came right of no hassle but the passenger was a pain however i got a puller on ebay soaked the nut in wd40 left the puller on the arm under pressure went for a cuppa came back and it had popped off

    Where'd you buy the new arms? I'm getting quoted about 100 incl vat from main dealer. As it happens it wasn't a factor in the NCT, will still change them because it's dangerous.
