Mobile speed cameras-driver not in van.

    Hi all!
    Today i passed a mobile speed camera van parked on opposite side of the road. I was going a tad faster than i should have. It was too late when i saw the van but as i passed, i noticed the driver was at the back of the van, with back door open.Looked like he was either setting up or closing up. Would anyone know if they are manual or automatically operated? May i have escaped the fine? Thank you.

    ohhhh op ,it takes a week for the fine to come in the post, anyway you deserve to be on tender hooks waiting for the white envelope with a window to flop on your matt. if your man was at the rear, me thinks (as you say)he wouldnt have the camera on.
