Today, with the help of Facebook, I was able to show my grandmother a picture of her newborn great grandson. Because of circumstance, she might not have had a chance to see him otherwise. Physical photographs are not as common in my family anymore since technology has improved.

Do you still have photos or are they all saved on your camera/phone/computer?

I think it's handier to manage them using technology although there is a warmer feeling when flicking through an album of photos. I think I'd like to have my photos saved on my computer (and backed up) and print off my favourite ones.

    You can't beat printed photos.

I worked on an exhibition recently where part of it contained Polaroid prints. When school groups would come in for a tour we would take a group photo and integrate it into the exhibition. Kidz these days are used to the Digital Age. The collective gasp of awe when they saw the photo come out of the camera straight away and then slowly come to life was amazing!

Don't forget folks, write on the back of your photos! It's a great asset to relatives down the line!

You could have swopped that camera there and then for eight ipods and ten galaxy phones.

    Like selling magic beans.

I still have lots of photographs. Back when film was expensive (in time if not money), people took much better shots, and appreciated them more.

But what I really miss from the pre-digital age is handwriting. No caller ID or little light/number in the inbox can compare to recognising the scrawl on an envelope. :)
