    Hi

I started out to work this morning and i turned on my lights and they come on but start dieing out after about a minute.

Any ideas on the part that is gone.

    bulb / igniter / balast ..

How much does this gear cost ..
    What is the chapest option.

    Thanks.

Does this happen to both of them or just one?

I will analyse it further to night.

But initially i had a warning on on the in cabin computer.

    right dipped headlight gone

Then this morning .. while driving to work i got this turning off business.

I am not sure if the lamp is dying or the positioning is readjusting it.

I will have to diagnose it tonight..

Sounds like igniter trouble to me, if you get that warning again just turn off the lights and turn them back on again. I have the same intermitment problem in my own car and in the previous VAG car i had with factory xenons.

edit: Once the bulbs ignited though the stayed on,never had them fade out, so could be something different.

If it is fading out then it sounds like a bulb.

If you are in doubt then swap the bulbs from side to side and see if the problem follows the bulb.

New bulbs from Audi are mental money but you can buy the same bulb in a different box in a motor factor much cheaper. Fitting just one bulb will probably lead to a light intensity and colour imbalance between the headlights so if that sort of thing bothers you then replace the pair.

There are cheap no-brand bulbs for sale all over the internet but they are a waste of time in my experience.

    George,

It is fading out and once more two of them are gone.

So am looking for a set on ebay 60 Sterling for two ?

Any further insight in to the bulb branding (Good / Bad)
