Are primetime cartoons 'finished'?

It seems like almost every primetime cartoon is badly slipping in quality.

The Simpsons has been sliding since Season 10, which is well-documented.
South Park is into it's third Season without a good episode. Unless they turn it around this season, I'll probably stop watching as I have done with The Simpsons.
Family Guy is slipping too, though the plots were often a little thin all the way through.
American Dad have been coasting on the strength of Roger for a few seasons and now they've overplayed that card and are starting to slip too.
The Cleveland Show was never funny to begin with and I'm glad it's gone.

Then there's ones that have not slipped yet...

Bobs Burgers is as good as it was in season 1, still makes me laugh.
Futurama has been cancelled again despite never having a properly bad episode, which is really irritating.
King Of The Hill was brilliant all the way through until it was cancelled to make room for The Cleveland Show.

So, has this format become a thing of the past or is there still life in it? I know there are still a few good ones going, like Archer, Korra, Adventure Time etc, but there seems to be less of them as time goes by.

You know that's a myth right?

It's not, actually. I know some people claim Mike Judge cancelled it himself to focus on The Goode Family, but that's not true. What happened was that someone in Fox wanted to cancel it, but the ratings were too high to justify it, so they started a tactic they have been well known for, constantly moving it around into different timeslots, then put it in the most disrupted slot on their schedule on Sunday evenings where it was constantly pre-empted by late-running sports.

Well, it's timeslot for the last three seasons was at 8:30 ET which is after the Simpsons and before Family Guy.

I don't think they are finished. I just think you want another fresh new interesting show (or maybe new episodes that use more minor characters and storylines).
