ALL NOW GONE - thanks Derealbadger and bcmf

As I can no longer cycle due to my cancer, I want to sell off as much as possible of my cycling stuff and split the proceeds 50/50 between The Irish Cancer Society and The Irish Hospice Foundation. For this reason I would prefer payment to go via a fund raising page on mycharity.ie

I live in Glenageary and stuff can be collected from my house, or alternatively my wife may be able to meet in the Merrion Sq area, or deliver Southside. Postage is also possible but not included in prices.

I will take long sleeve. Not sure how I will pick it up.

Really sorry to hear about your situation. I really hope you kick the shiite out of it.
    b.

Thanks for your good wishes but unfortunately it is now in the latter stages of kicking the shiite out of me.

PM me and we should be able to sort something out about the jacket.

Le petit b, I'm really sorry to hear about this. Are you in the later stages of chemo ? Sorry to be nosey, but I admire you talking about it there like that. Fair play to you and your wife organising this and donating to charity.

    Thanks for your kind words

By "it is now in the latter stages of kicking the shiite out of me", I meant that my cancer is now incurable and terminal. I have no problem talking about it, as we need to kick both the fear and ignorance out of cancer. On the one hand, cancer is not by any means the death sentence it once was with the treatments now available, but you maximise your chances with as early a diagnosis as possible.

I've posted about this before but it certainly bears re-stating. I was diagnosed with male breast cancer about 7 years ago. Unfortunately because like most men I wasn't aware that breast cancer could affect us, I ignored the symptom of an inverted nipple I had for maybe at least a year beforehand, and that delay MAY have ultimately killed me,

Forgetting about the specifics of my case, the message to all men is, if there is something different about any part of your body, GO TO A DOCTOR ASAP. Ignoring it and adopting an ostrich strategy only works if you are very lucky.

Jesus, shocked to read that OP, will donate a few quid to your charity there. Good post that also, brave and to the point. Too many ostriches unfortunately.

Me too, great idea. I'm sure there would be a big interest in this. Not a whole lot happening this time of the year anyway.

Le Petit Braquet's post is too honest and direct not warrant a similar direct action.

If a few others want to step up with me, I am happy to make this happen. No reason not to pick a Winter's Sunday morning and then plan an informal fundraising cycle. 90/120km spin with a 50km loop option If we get 10 riders, we get 10. If we get 50-100 riders we get 50-100.
