    Hi all,
When I moved into my house the alarm was installed but I dont have a code for it. I bought the house from the bank so never had contact with the previous owners to get the code. The issue I have now is that the key pad has suddenly started beeping. The red light beside alarm is on and it beeps every few seconds and is quite loud! Does anyone know is there anything I can do or will I have to call out an alarm company and shell out to get this fixed?

    Thanks

You could try a factory default as follows:

Beware this removes all setting & the system will need to be reprogrammed.

Power down the system completely, turn off the mains power & disconnect the battery.
Remove the factory link marked LK1 & power up the system with this still removed.
Follow the keypad instructions to default the system.
If you are not prompted to default at the keypad the system is engineer locked & you will need an engineer to default & reset it for you.
If you need a call out prices will vary from €50-€150 so shop around.

Most systems installed to the EN50131 Standard need an end user to put in there code to allow an engineer access to the alarm to change codes. If your code does not allow this then you will need to default the system. If the system is engineer locked then only an engineer would be able to do this for you. The only way to find out if it is is to try the reset as suggested above.

Thanks Guys, we defaulted the panel but it is engineer locked. The company that installed it are now out of business as well. If I could locate the old engineer codes for Alarm specialists I could try that but if not it looks like I will need to call an engineer out and may need HKC to unlock it for me.

Any engineer can reset this for you. Don't be conned/talked into paying HKC as well.
Is Alarm Specialists the name of the installers?
    I never heard of them.

Yes alarm specialists were a company in Kilkenny that installed them and have now gone out of business.
I was talking to a guy yesterday who thinks he knows the engineers codes their workers used to use.
He is going to find them and give that a go for me first before I call out an engineer.

If the system is installed to the EN50131 standard then a valid user code is needed to enter engineering. The default or the back door into the system may be the only way if this is the case.

Hopefully that will sort it out for you.
Remember don't trust anyone who wants to sell you a new panel or want to send it to HKC.

Your welcome, it is an easy system to default and program so shop around before agreeing to anything.

Who installed the system ? "Waiting for "refers to a comms fault. The wireless device on zone 30 is not comunicating with the panel properly.
they really should have given the zones descriptions.

The guy who installed the alarm is n/a but the zone referred to is the panic button is that any help. I suspect it may be a low battery being that it is unable to communicate with the keypad / Thanks again Flops
