    Coca Cola has to be the most widely known. From high streets to slums to everywhere else, people are drinking coke.

    As those that have mentioned;

    McDonald's and Coca-Cola.

    These two are basically EVERYWHERE.

    Even on the moon!

    That directory tells you the value of brands not how well known they are. They are not the same thing. Coca cola is probably more widely known than the brands that rank above it in value, but since coca cola only really has one application it is not as valuable as something like Apple which is a brand that could be put on any piece of computer hardware almost doubling it's retail value because of the brand alone.

    Definitely Coca-Cola.

    You'd be surprised at how many countries that have no McDonald's. None in Mongolia, Cambodia, Vietnam from personal experience. Probably lots more countries too. KFC is a lot more popular in Asia.

    Coke's everywhere though.

    The Catholic Church.

    Millions of unwavering, loyal customers, a branch in a prominent position on near enough every Main Street of every main town/city/village in the Europe, America, Africa and Australia, coupled with an instantly recognisable and simple logo and a level of advertising (albeit free) that the likes of coca cola could only dream of

    Surely the least potent brand around.

    Apple and Google may have the larger brand values, but I think coke reaches more people through their distribution network. They actually piggy back medicine onto coca cola crates in africa, to get it to where it needs to go.

    Mc Donalds for its golden arches. They are even used to measure GDP in many countries in the world.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 28,789 ✭✭✭✭ScumLord

    I would say coca cola too, it is everywhere and we pay a bloated price for it here in the west. Mcdonalds is still too expensive for some places, I've heard in some poorer countries it's more expensive than regular food so it's a treat in those places.

    Google would probably be known but people in countries like China wouldn't be allowed to use it.
