Bike Insurance

I have recently bought a decent bike and want to insure it. Cyclesure are giving me a quote for €30 -is this a good quote and has anyone used them? Or can anyone recommend a good place to purchase insurance? A few of my friends have had their bikes stolen even in work and I want to ensure I have my bike covered!

Most people just stick it on their house insurance policy, only costs a few quid extra per year I think.

Does your house insurance cover even if your out and about on your bike ?
I no mine covers up to 2grand for a single unspecified item but I thought only if it's robbed for house

    You should get contents insurance.

Ffs the OP is asking about insurance for the bike itself, not house/apartment contents!

Sorry OP, I've no experience in this either, but would be interested in what others have to say.

I don't need contents insurance - I share with two other girls, and the only valuable things I have are already insured, except for my bike.

If anyone has any experience of insuring their bike outside of home insurance, please let me know :)

I have bikes but none are insured.
How much lower than €30 would satisfy you?
More important is what does the bicycle insurance offered for €30 cover. My guess is very little.
It probably has very strict conditions.

I'm not necessarily asking for a lower quote - to me this is fine, I just wanted to see if anyone had any experience with this company or others, and what I would get for it. The bike is worth about €300 which is why the insurance is probably so low, for me I just want piece of mind that if the bike is stolen I don't have to try to come up with another €300 which I may not have at the time.

Did you read all of the small print? If you comply with their conditions you probably wont ever require insurance for theft. They often require 2 locks which comply with the highest industry standards (and probably cost almost as much as your bike is worth) and can be very specific about where it is locked (i.e. locked inside a locked shed etc.)

I'd be more concerned about insuring against personal injuries or any 3rd party injuries I may cause.
