Acid attack on car in cabra

my car got acid (probably nitramorse) thrown on it last night in cabra. whats the best way to stop it burning after washing it off. .

it'll need a total respray,:mad:

another few cars were done in the last week.

where about in Cabra did this happen? that is shocking

White spirits will stop nitromoors from attacking paint. Washing with water/soap it off will just leave residue that will still eat into the paint.

Sorry to hear that Op, absolute scum, what the hell is worng with these people.
Nitromors isnt that cheap, it's likely brake fluid they are using, dont know if that makes any difference withe the white spirit , probably not.

Nitromors is €17 a bottle so unless its a personal grudge, its prob brake fluid as said above

Fair enough, believe what you want. That's what it say's on the back of the tin and I've used it enough to believe it.

i was woken by voices outside last night and hear a fizzing noise.

put it down to a party across the road. they had been in and out all night.


it was probably the paint burning that i heard..

waiting on the guards the last 2 hours. said they would be with me in 10 minutes

Em, I think you have misunderstood, I'm not doubting what you said, I was saying it may well have been brake fluid that was used.

got some of it on my hand when i poured on white spirits..it me burnt.


wouldn't say its grudge.i know no one bar my immediate neighbours. just kids thinking its a great laugh. 2 other cars that i know of around the corner were done this week.

Well, the gardai came...eventually ....and apart from asking me if anyone had a grudge against me or I'd been in a fight with someone or my family may have done it ...they had no interest in it and if course no point talking to the local hardware stores are nitramorse isnt
sold to anyone under 18!

I got the car washed in the car wash. seals are damaged and some water got in !

Go door to door along the route, mention what happened and maybe ask if anyone has cctv. You could get lucky, theres a lot of CCTV systems installed recently as sad to say but everyone has been on the receiving end of theft or vandalism these days. It stinks, gated communities here we come..

I did and I put it through the wash a second time to remove any residue !

Just got the quote from the body shop ..€3k.
