Savoy Screen 1 or Lighthouse in Smithfield.

Cineworld has an Imax in Dublin and it is unreal. Best venue is Screen 1 in the Savoy Dublin but it hasnt got Imax. So for quality of picture go with Imax, for quality of venue it is the Savoy.

Just a repeated warning that the IMAX in Cineworld is not the IMAX the likes of Chris Nolan wax lyrical around. It's just a good quality digital screen with a brand name slapped on it. It is a poor imitation of the genuine, unique experience of a proper 70mm IMAX screen. I'd easily recommend Savoy 1 or the Lighthouse over it, especially at the cheeky premium price Cineworld slap on tickets. It's a good screen, but it's not 'authentic'.

The screen is great but I wouldn't recommend Savoy 1 as a venue. At busy screenings you can expect the bottom of the screen to be obscured by other people's heads. I also hate the feeling that I might be blocking someone else's view of the screen, prompting me to sink down into my seat, which isn't very comfortable.

My vote would probably go to the Lighthouse. But Vue is good as well. All the screens are really big (1 and 2 are the largest in the country). Just stay away from their 3D screens (2, 5, 6, 10, 11) - very poor image quality due to the the polarised lenses.
