    Hi.
Do all suppliers of electricity ( Airtricity, Bord Gais, Electric Ireland etc.) take their electricity from the same source? - is it the same electricity as such or could one suppliers' electricity be greener than another?

    Thanks,
    Iano

    Hi ianopino,

The breakdown of the fuel sources we use to supply electricity to customers and the associated environmental impact can be found on the back of any Electric Ireland bill (at the bottom right on the second page). You can also find it on our website here. Simply put, the fuel mix disclosure tells you what the electricity you use is made from, and what CO2 emissions it creates.

The Commission for Energy Regulation requires all electricity suppliers to provide this information to customers, and you can find further information at cer.ie.

If you want to be as environmentally-friendly as possible and offset your own CO2 footprint, we have a Green Priceplan available. If you opt for this priceplan, we will purchase the equivalent of your annual electricity usage from 100% renewable energy sources. See here for more information.

    Regards,
    David
