Saw pro wearing one on the telly during the Veulta.Couldn't imagine it would be very comfortable. Is there special support for cycling or anyone got one.
Before anyone talks bike fits etc I have had all that done. Its an old injury from footballing days and I had keyhole surgery this time last year. Was over the moon when the surgeon told me best thing to do was to cycle.Off the bike 3 weeks now.Don't think its anything other than a strain.Got a little silly last time out and did hill in a big gear, pushed a little too hard .

I've been using elasticated tubing as knee supports for longer cycles; I can feel the difference with/without the support

Plenty of cyclists use kinesio tape. Have tried it myself, undecided as to whether it works or not. If I keep my knees warm they tend to be ok.

OP it might be worth your while seeing if you pedal in "hard" gears slowly? I read that it puts less strain on the knee spinning in an "easy" gear faster. I'd some knee strain that left once I started upping the cadence.
