    Hi all,
A building is coming available shortly for a very low price, and I have had it in the back of my mind for quite a while to try and establish an independent cinema. Somewhere that can show classics and arthouse films etc.
Anyone out there done this, any thoughts about the system best suited?
    All comments welcome.

I have absolutely no experience in the area or have ever done anything like this, but would love to get involved somehow. PM me if interested.

Would it not depend on where it is?

I hope you're not expecting to turn a profit! But it's a very cool idea and hope for the best for you. Maybe ask the managers of independent cinemas for advice. Can you get a liquor license as well?

If you're thinking of Dublin I would suggest the capital is well served by the IFI, Light House and the Screen. If it's anywhere else in the country best of luck but as a rule cinemas like this only tend to work in major urban centers. Also don't forget it can go horribly wrong, look what happen Neil Connelly & Maretta Dillon in Dublin and Mick Hannigan in Cork...
