Damage due to high path

Quick question. Parked in a car park. Parked in an allotted space with a path running across the end.

I presumed the path was low enough for the front of my car to clear it. It wasn't. Front bumper has a nice bit of damage. Do I have any come back. I can't see any signs saying they take no responsibility for damage to cars.

cant see how youd have any come back when it was "careless" driving.

1 mph is careless ? The kerb is at least 3 to 4 inches which is ridiculous in a car park.

I wouldn't think you are entitled to anything. The parking space is for your car, the path is for pedestrians. You tried to cross the streams.... :-)

Wasn't there a similar thread recently where the OP refused to admit it was their fault for hitting a kerb in a multistory car park.

    *steps onto high path*

Careless driving! Won't someone think of the children! What if a a child was on that path playing when you came plowing along in your high powered BMW 316 or Nissan Qashqai. Hope they throw the book at you.

    *falls off high path*

Ouch that hurt, where's the nearest solicitor lads?

You shouldn't park with the front of your car over any pedestrian path it's not part of the parking spot.

Zero come back for hitting an immovable object, 3-4 inches is standard height for a kerb.

Classic. Driver hits kerb and looks for someone else to blame. :D

But your not supposed to park over a kerb, you are then blocking a footpath. Your bumper should be "road-side" of the kerb.

But no, you hit a stationary object, your fault.

Audi A4's the new ones with the superlong front splitter can take up like 2 feet of kerb its insane :p

Cant believe the OP actually posted this. You drove into a solid object. How on earth do you think the damage to your car is anyone else's fault but your own????

1 mph is careless ? The kerb is at least 3 to 4 inches which is ridiculous in a car park.

So you drove over a path as in footpath. (I understand that you wheels didn't mount the kerb) where pedestrians walk and you want 'come back'.

    Go and catch yourself on!

You can be careless at any speed. If you roll in to a pedestrian at 1mph, is that not careless?

It does require some care when parking with alot of current cars as you will do alot of damage if you drive the front bumper into a kerb. That said, its a bit Irish looking to blame someone else when you do.

On my computer (at least) that's closer to 5 inches than 3-4; irrespective, I think the OP's complaint is more of a "look at me, how silly can I be" than a serious matter.

Whoever owns the kerb should be after you if there was any damage done.

    Ireland 2013. Unbelievable!
