I'd resemble my mothers side of the family but I am more like my father when it comes to personality.

I was told I looked like my mother growing up, but now definitely my father and definitely have the personality of my father.

Although Christ knows my ****e-talking comes from my mother's side.

A long-lost relative I met when I was 19 told me I "look like a mixture of my mother and father." It was awkward enough meeting him without the silence as we both thought that was a stupid thing to say.

I'm the spit of my Mum - and I hope I look like her when I'm her age!!

Bit of both lately. Tits like my mam, penis like my old man...just smaller. That's about where the resemblance ends.

Erm...I think I may be adopted.

Some people say I look like the milkman.

People always tell me Im the image of my mother but act very like my father, Im adopted.

I look nothing like my birth parents either, thankfully. Nobody in that family has anything going for them in the looks department. We all fell out of the ugly tree so to speak!

Luckily, my father is a nice guy...I'm being inadvertently cocky by saying that I guess. :/

I've been told I look an awful lot like my uncle, which doesn't bode well for me considering he's dead.

Anyone I meet tells me I'm the image of my mother. And I've been told that my mother is an attractive lady. So I'll take that :pac:

Personality-wise, I'm very much like my dad. Extremely stubborn with a penchant for history documentaries.

In looks, I've always been told I'm like pater. Alas, I've always been closer to mother in personality and interests, as I was oft reminded.

I'd love to think I'm like my mum. A lovely kind hearted person, that never did any wrong in her life. But I'm not, I'm an argumentative prick like my father.

i love when you're young and older people try to find similarities to your parents.

the neighbours used to always say to my cousin, "you have your father's face and your mother's eyes", etc.

little did they know he was actually adopted...........

I can sometimes see a bit of both their personalities in me. Good sides and bad.

Some peoplr have said I look quite abit like my father when he was younger. But i've seen pictures of my father when he was younger andhe looks like Gabriel Byrne did when he was younger. And i definitely don't look like young Gabriel Byrne... so I don't know what to think of that...

    I sense a milf!

She's a gilf now but I would not be complaining if I looked as young and had her figure when I'm 60!

Look more like my fathers side, my other siblings would look more like my mothers side.

I look more like my mum but I'm definitely not like her in anyway we are the complete opposite . I wouldn't say I'm that much like my dad but he's laid back so I guess more like him. Although my mum always tells me I'm like my nan who's her mother but the rest of the family don't agree .

I suppose I look more like my dad but have my mother's temperament... which is not a good thing.

Looks-wise I basically am my Dad.

Personality-wise I'm far more like my mum.

Not sure, think I look like my father.

Growing up I was the image of my mother and a few cousins on her side but when I hit my teens I became a ringer for the old man. Actually, on my folks and my own wedding photos, you'd swear it was the same guy, the only difference being I had a smig and he had a full beard, but we both had long hair in the photos and even our expressions are almost identical. Personality wise too we're fairly similar too, I'd be a bit more opened minded than him, he'd be a bit more logical but both of us are laid back and chilled out, much to the annoyance of both my wife and my mother hah.

Indifference and borderline hatred of the vast majority of humans I come into contact with: Dad

Constant stream of rot-talk around the people whose company I do enjoy: Mam.

I'm always told I'm the image of my Dad - he died 2 days before I turned 2. If I've some of his character (a great man by all accounts) and half my Mum's strength (after raising 4 kids on her own), I'll be a person whose achieved s'thing ....:)

Im told i look like me grandad and am very much me dads personality, i wish i could have met me grandad, but he died years before i was born

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 201 ✭✭username_x

Well, unlike my mother, I'm not dead so I'm going to have to say my father.

In all seriousness though, I am apparently the spit outta my mothers mouth. Look identical, same personality, only difference is I haven't managed to achieve half the things she had by the time she was my age.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 8,076 ✭✭✭Eathrin

I'm nothing like my mother in personality or likeness but she did pass on her short sightedness and mental illness!

A lady I'd never met before in my life asked me if I was my xxx's (My Dad's) son just because I looked so much like him.
Can't wait till I lose the rest of my hair so we can be identical!

(I'm coming off as an awful pedant here :( )

I've always been told I look like my Dads side of the family and I definitely have my mothers' personality.
That said though, an aunt of mine recently met a 3rd or 4th cousin on my mams side that none of us know, and she did a double take and genuinely thought it was me for a few minutes. Freaked her right out.

    So I dunno lol :pac:

I look very like my mother did at when she was this age, we're quite alike in temperament too, which probably explains why we can only spend a couple of days together before the arguments start.

I look like my mum but am told i have the same personality as my dad....can't really remember him since he's dead 18 years!

I used to look like my Ma when I was younger, but now, to my despair, I'm basically turning into a virtual physiological facsimile of my aul fella. .

Always was told I was the image of my mother although I can see tiny similarities of my Dad as well.
Definitely more like my mother though in terms of appearance.

In terms of personality I would be probably more like my Dad, actually it's probably 50/50.

I think when you get older your personality turns more of what one of your parents is like, my wife is in her forty's and shes getting more like her mum everyday, never noticed it in her younger years.
