My mate's off to Thailand for a month on the lash, and wants me to pick up his dole for him from the Post Office. He said I can keep half, and in these austere times I can do with that. I've got free classes at the times he's supposed to sign, and the Post office is just down the road from school, so why not? Anyway, will they suss me, do you think? We look similar enough, except he's a ginger.

Could get away collecting it in post office with out ID, if you have an old dole card without a pic then your lit! however signing on is a different kettle of fish, I wouldnt chance going into the social and signing, they are fairly strict

Ah yeah, he's timing the signings around the holiday. He'll leave after one, and come back the day before the next.

Truth is I know many who have gotten away with it, especially now so many have emigrated, the temptations are huge.

Not anymore, you need ID even with a dole card. If you look like him OP you might get away but you will need his ID. I'd also practice his signature before going in.

Except when asking you to illegallly collect his money and sign on for him; but hey those are Irish laws so they are ok to ignore...
