2007 vw passat fob key replacment ebay?

    hi all,
    I lost my spare key for 2007 vw passat, was quoted arround 300n euro for a new one through a main dealer. have any of ye bought a used one on ebay or the like? seen them for arround 40 euro but dont want to get riped off if they dont work iykwim! i realise id need to get it coded in dealer at a cost of €90.

    Try your local locksmiths for a price.

    It's not a key so a locksmith wouldn't do them it's a fob with 3buttons which you insert into dash.

    Would be worth getting a quote if autokey.ie i think they sell them keys for passats they code them too. They save me a lot on my last key compared to the main dealer and they still supply genuine keys not like most of the rubbish ebay ones.

    It's a main dealer only job as the key has to be coded to the cars ecu.

    I called a few locksmiths and they could not do it....

    I wouldn't be too sure but they generally need the car there in order to code the key. When I got a key cut for my focus the guy plugged a computer into the car and coded it then. Worth ringing and asking them.

    Well I'd say auto key would need the key and the car as the main dealer needs both! I'm going to ring them tomorrow see the price.
