Because some people suck mostly. I don't think I would be physically able to stab somebody. It's so gruesome. Shoot them? No problem but stabbing...makes me queasy.

I think it's because of the recession. We've all become so accepting of things. I've stopped even noticing getting stabbed several times a week.

Is there any evidence that there is a culture of knife crime in Ireland?

The fight was over and settled, dispute whatever and this coward stabbs him in the back killing him.A coward who always hits from behind.

And smart answers are cheap.Just taught I would ask on here what peoples views are does not matter because it is the cowards way to use a knife and one that seems to be a culture in the cities of this country.

One murder does not a "culture" make.

It's more of an Earth problem than an Ireland problem. Not much you can do to stop people being scumbags. Just try to avoid confrontation whenever possible I guess.

Yea but seems to be a more popular thing for people to do these days in Ireland. And with these idiots who dont give a **** if they hurt or kill
    another person.

I haven't heard of anyone being stabbed in a long time :/ If they don't have knives, they'll have guns, bats or some other weapon. Scumbags exist and we suffer for it. It's **** but that's the way it is I'm afraid.

Would prefer a knife culture over a gun culture. Both are terrible but y'know..

More of a gun thing here in West Dublin over the last few months. Can't say I've ever noticed a knife culture here,at least not like when I lived in London a few years ago and stabbings were rife among teenagers and young adults.

Without easy access to guns like the Americans, the knife is the weapon of choice. Discreet, effective, easily available to buy - there are a number of reasons.

Sociologically I think because of a loosening of society's morals and a gradual importation of the knife culture in London also contributes.
