Work and Psoriatic Arthritis

    Hi Guys.
Just looking for some advice here really..
I am mid forties 5 year old twins and working 4 days..have psoriatic arthritis since 20's and now on embrel, methrotrexate and anti inflammatories. Struggling with work to be honest along with everything else and find over the last year even with the meds I am quite sore all over and now a lot of neck pain and stiffness...so at the end of a day in work sometimes I am almost in tears with the tiredness and strain. Am considering asking my employer to reduce my working hours as I feel I am not able to cope with even a 32 hour week which I currently do. I would be looking for more like 20 hours which will be hard financially but think it would be best for me. my children and our family...myself and hubby included. Just wondering if anyone has been in a similar situation and how did you get on? Thanks in advance:)

    Hi Tmum,
I am a male in my early 40s and have suffered with psoriatic arthritis since my 20s also. Have been on embrel and anti inflammatories for years also. Work shiftwork which is difficult. I try to walk and do light exercise as often as I can to help the joints. Try to be positive and not let the disease hold you back. I know it can be hard at times but I try to carry on as normal and not let things get the better of me. Hope things work out for you.
