Setanta Gone Off

    Hi Guys,

    I have setanta running on my old sky subscription card for a few years now, but all of a sudden the channels have disappeared. I've spoken with setanta and they assure me my account is fine. Do you reckon sky have killed my card?

    Give the chip on the card a wipe,sometimes dust etc. can stop the box from reading it or the card could be knackered.Try it in another box to see if it works.

    There are a lot of channels moving frequencies over the next while. I'm not sure if Setanta is one of them. What box you using it in? Perhaps the TP needs to be changed?

    I think it moved 30/9/13 to 12422 H DVB-S MPEG-2 27500 2/3
    (used to be on 11680.77MHz, pol.V SR:27500 FEC:2/3 )
    Maybe someone else can confirm as Kingofsat lists the old Freq and Lyngsat.com the new...

    If you got a new box and didn't update that info with Setanta, then yes you need to tell them (Setanta). Sky don't have any involvement with Setanta subscriptions.

    Its just an old sd sky box, details haven't changed so just find it a bit wierd that its gone off....

    Can you still view Sony TV or LFC TV? If so the card is working and up to date.

    Nope, just getting this message "this viewing card is not authorised, call the broadcaster for assistance". Reckon i'll have to get a new free to view card...and add setanta onto that..

    Leave the card in the box at least overnight. It may update itself in that time. I move one of those cards around 3 different boxes fairly regularly. If it acts up, I leave it in overnight and that works for me.

    Tell Setanta to re-pair the card with the box, buying an old ex sub card won't do you any good as they won't pair it for you, if it isn't back working within 4 hours of talking to Setanta just get them to send you another card.
