There's probably a decent discussion to be had that lies somewhere between the inevitable AH knee-jerk racism and the strangely passive acceptance/defence (generally from middle-class liberals that will never - and would never - countenance living in close proximity to traveller communities) of the traveller "culture".

Obviously any negative aspects of such culture are found in abundance in so-called settled communities too but they tend not to be excused within bogus notions of ethnicity/culture.

I accept that the debate isn't for here though.
