You can pull it out and spray with brake cleaner. A new one is about 30 on ebay.

If you intend on cleaning MAF just take care, they're very sensitive, I recommend cotton ear bud and electrical component/switch cleaner, the type that evaporates.. It may not be a solution for your particular problem, but if dust or build up is causing the bad readings then your on a winner!!!P.s when you have it disconnected also spray both male and female socket connections. Good Luck....

ok didnt work, still getting code PO100 up , i treid an AF Meter from another vectra and its very slow to bulid up the revs, when idle its sluggish to rev up, when i sink the pedal its revs and knocks uneven abit
i cleared the code but problem remains

If the issue is bad idle and uneven revs I'd just continue with cleaning throttle body and toss some injector cleaner in there.

Who said Airflow was at fault in your first post?

Describe the problem as detailed as you can, that will help us help you.

    All,
I have been following this thread with great interest I have a 2001 Vectra 1.6 petrol which has little power through first and second gears I am told that the ECU maybe bad but I have no engine management light showing I am also told it maybe the air flow meter which is the problem any comments?

Airflow and Throttle position are inextricably linked in most cars.

If there's an issue with one, and you have changed one: by Murphy's Law, its definitely the other...
    - It of course depends on how expensive, how difficult, and how many skinned knuckles are involved.

Thanks Whizbang are you confident that the ECU is ok? also when I checked the plugs there is 2 with 3 prongs at the base of the electrode and 2 with 1 prong at the base of the electrode would this make a difference?
