Coming home today along the north strand I noticed a glove fall from the pocket of a cyclist in front of me I immediately sped up to inform him what had happened. we were travelling fast 22mph. I got up along side him and said "mate, you dropped ....." he turned around and just said "jesus christ..." and nearly fell of the bike.

I have never laughed as much in all my life,. if you read this mate I am sorry to frighten you but thank you because my sides are split with laughter and I need a laugh....Wonderful!!!

I disagree. Cycling in mph makes you go faster. Imagine you're spinning along at 30kph, you might think to yourself "Hey, I'm not doing too bad here!" But if you realise that, in fact, you're only travelling at 18.6mph, well that doesn't sound so fantastic, does it? No. So what do you do? You speed up! Try it, it really works!

Oh sure, but it was the kph I was taking issue with. km/h looks more Euro, surely?

How's the Wasp running? Whatever metric you use, that's an eye-catching steed.

You opened your window and tried talking to him at 22mph? Have you nothing upstairs?

    "we were travelling fast 22mph"

I took it OP was on bike?

In the summer I was cycling slowly about 15 meters behind a man who was taking it handy up a hill on his hybrid. He was weaving a bit and I couldn't see the road beyond the apex of the hill so I was waiting for a safe time to overtake him. When he reached the apex, he took a look back over his shoulder, but seemed to get a bit of a shock when he saw me behind him. The shock was enough for him to turn his bike in towards the ditch before hurriedly applying the brakes and hopping off the bike to "check his tyres". :D

Having seen your LinkedIn profile picture, i'm not surprised he almost fell off his bike.

Last time I saw you on a bike (Vets race), pretty much everything was behind you then too. Never say never!

Is the op a motorist, impression I got is he was on a bicycle, especially given he "sped up" to catch the guy
