Dose for calves

    Wondering when you have a shook calf,people would say give him a dose,what do they mean,a shot of worm and fluke dose or a penesillin dose or something else,not long in farming.

    You need to determine why is he shook. Or have the vet take a look and advise you.
    Maybe start by understanding how has he been dosed over the summer and learn to take a temperature.

    A shot of Nuflor is what is given at home to calves who are poorly and most get it once they come in the gate, not cheap but seems to do the trick...
    Maybe getting a dung sample tested would be no harm. Access to a mineral lick may be no harm...

    If they are looking under the weather and no scour or coughing we'd usually start by checking their temperature..
