Non-Adjecent rate of grant.

    Hi all,

    New to boards.ie so forgive if I make any mistakes.

    I received a letter today from SUSI awarding me my grant(at last).

    However I am confused That I have been awarded the special Non-adjacent rate of the maintenance grant. I knew I would get the maintance grant as I am a mature student on One-parent family payment but I live 16km from the campus where I am doing the course.

    Is this a mistake by SUSI or am I entitled to the non-adjacent rate?

    Also note that I am attending the Wicklow Campus of Carlow IT. Are they putting my distance from my home to Carlow It instead of the Wiclow Campus?

    I don't want to end up having to pay back SUSI in a few months time if this turns out to be a mistake on their part.

    Any help would be appreciated.

    Non adjacent rate is 45km or over

    It seems they may have given you an incorrect grant

    Perhaps the best thing to do is let them know

    It was so much easier to blame it on Them. It was bleakly depressing to think that They were Us. If it was Them, then nothing was anyone's fault. If it was us, what did that make Me? After all, I'm one of Us. I must be. I've certainly never thought of myself as one of Them. No one ever thinks of themselves as one of Them. We're always one of Us. It's Them that do the bad things.
