    Hi,

A friend of mine and fellow racer is organising a sponsored cycle in association with the Drogheda wheelers. The cycle is on this weekend, and is in aid of a new primary school for the boys and girls of Duleek.

    The event flyer is attached.

It looks like a nice route through the meath countryside, and the weather promises to be reasonable.

Flyer attached, and contact details are available on it.

    Thanks,
    Lenny

Lenny is Duleek the place near the cement factory/incerator?
If so I may head up as a few lads from work are doing it.

GAA Grounds are through the village.

Head along the main street, past the church, past the Spar (on your right) - stay that road and they're about 500m further on.

Raging I had to miss this. Family (sons footie) commitments.

Lenny do you know if Drogheda wheelers are organising the same spins as they did last year in early/late November?

Really enjoyed this spin, very well organised and marshalled and there was a great turn out for a great cause.

Hopefully this will be on again next year.

Was a speedy enough spin, strava had 31.7km avg, 72km in 2hr15mins but my computer had an average speed of 31.9km, computer sounds better ! Quite enjoyed the mini race at the end even though it wasn't a race, makes me wonder should i give racing a bit of a go next year ?

Hi all , Andrew here from Organising Committee. Huge success for a number of reasons. The fantastic assistance from all cycling fraternity who helped steward and do lead cars, cycling family once again show what a great sport we have. To all the riders, who took part in the 80kms and 14kms spins, great to see the way they conducted themselves on the road, a credit again, this makes the organisers job very easy. Thanks to St Johns Ambulance - fantastic team. Thanks to Duleek-Bellewstown GAA club for their efforts. To all who supported us financially.

Finally many many thanks to all, hope all enjoyed and looking forward to next year already.

As already mentioned above, great turnout, great marshalling and great foodstops.
Nice route with rolling hills, was quite warm at first but the rain cooled us down later on.
First decent spin for me in a month or two (bloody work getting in the way of cycling )
Cycled over to Duleek so 95km for me door to door.
Hopefully will be an annual event?
