Steel is repairable, that's the beauty of it. These guys look like they could do it:

Try your local car body repair shop, it can be easily welded (preferably a spot using MIG)

    thanks

i was thinking i could get a plate welded over the triangle section but would prefer someone that deals with bike frames to do it. Either that or get the dropouts replaced, just not sure if its possible

I had a similar problem earlier in the year, discovered while replacing a broken back axle. The break in the dropout was clear of the axle mounting faces so there was no problem in having the weld slightly proud of the surface. I went to local car repairer, nowadays they are skilled and equipped to carry out welding on relatively light steel sections. He welded the crack in a few minutes. Bike back in daily use.

The dropout needs to be replaced . You should never weld or repair something that is holding your wheel on .

Any car repair place will MIG weld this in a couple of minutes, or weld it with
oxy-acethlene. dont let them braze it, it Will be too hard and might crack again . Welding in a new dropout would probably be ideal, but you are going to be doing more cutting and welding, so more chance of errors creeping in.

If the frame value is less than €300 then I would say either try a local welder to repair or replace the frame.
It would be uneconomical otherwise to get it repaired by a frame builder, and also to factor in repainting etc.
