Carry On Lipo Battery

I have a toy helicopter that uses a Lipo 2200 mAh battery (half the size of a pack of Rothmans) and was wondering about airline (Ryanair/Aer Lingus) regulations regarding the carry on board of this type of battery. They are expensive enough to buy and really don't want it confiscated.

Before you say, contact the airline, I have tried but haven't been able to get past their automated email response!

I'm told that laptop computers use these type of batteries but I suppose it is hidden away. My problem is that it will be carried on separately. Has anyone had issues carrying on a Lipo battery?

    Thanks.

Your potential issue is not with Ryanair, its with the airport you're travelling through and specifically with their security people. Airlines impose limits on weight and linear dimensions (W x D x H), they don't search or scan your bag so don't worry your head about Ryanair.

Go to the website of the airport you'll be travelling from and read the list of items prohibited in carry-on luggage.
