Anxiety / Getting prescribed a beta blocker?

I've had anxiety with the last year and a half or so.. It's gets beyond horrible when public speaking in school and stuff. Shaking, sweating, voice shaking, the works! I can read aloud for hours on end perfectly by myself, but when even one person is around it feels like I'm about to have a heart attack..

So what are my options? I've searched around and beta blockers (propranolol) seem to help. I'm 16 so will my gp prescribe them to me? Will I have to make an appointment just to tell him this or can it be done over the phone?

Your option is to make an appointment with your gp and let him/her rather than dr Google decide the best course of action.
