Women Counting Change In Shops...

    Hey all,

Without this turning into a battle of the sexes debate or anything but... From my experiences of working at tills and waiting in queues, is there a reason why women are more prone to counting out all of their small change when completing a transaction, or if a sale comes to €13.49, they will insist on giving €23.49 to get a €10 note back? I've noticed the opposite sex doing this far more.

    Any thoughts??

They (we) want to use up change so we don't have to carry it around.

I've never noticed women counting change in shops before because if they're hot I'm staring at their ass and if they're not I'm lost in my mind with thoughts of sexy boobs.

That's what the self service checkouts are for my friend.

I go into my local shop where i know the prices off by heart. I usually pay for a few items with full bags of change ie €1 in 1c coins for the newspaper in the morning. The smaller local shops like getting full bags especially 10c-€2 coins as it is easier for them to get them off customers than to go to the bank and probably have to close to achieve that task.

I hate having loads of change, and I've noticed with guys, they are more likely to have change jars at home that they throw it into.

    So yeah, change jars.

An ideal lame thread title would have been Sex Change?

from my experience of buying stuff in shops , its elderly women who not only decide to count happenys in order to pay for something but actually appear surprised stuff has to be paid for at all once you reach the till

Is this after they've stood there for 10 minutes after being told the amount, and then.......opens the handbag to look for her purse.

Blokes do it more in my experience, it's handy when your low on change.

Men do it in pubs....its a great excuse for another pint (I'm saving money - reducing the stress on the back pocket etc., sure the barman is always short of change).

I do it, I like getting bigger denominations in change. If not paying by debit card.

    7.35 €20, €2, 20c 10c 5c = €10 and €5 change

I always pay by note in a pub

Worked in a shop years ago and it actually was handy when people gave you lots of loose change.

I'm surprised at that. It's definitely more of a woman thing IME.
