Does anyone know where I'd be able to enter into a beginner downhill mtb race? Never raced before and thought it was time to give it a go :). Also was thinking about heading to England for a few days to a mtb park anyone know the best one to go to? Cheers.

If it's DH you want, go to Fortwilliam, in Scotland. They have really efficient uplift. They use the ski chairlift. The course is pretty waterproof. It has been used for World Cups and World Championships.
DH season is pretty much finished here. Next races will be the Winter Series.

I was thinking about fort William alrite the only thing is getting there is it close to a train station do you know? I have to get a boat and then a train with the bike because I can't drive over there with a provisional licence.

Hey Bobzilla, You can get a great uplift DH service in Fairymount Farm near Roscrea. They have two DH tracks there. Also the National Champs are on there in a few weeks which you can enter: http://www.fairymountfarm.com/mtb.htm

Also, there is full uplifts in Rostrevor MTB trails with two downhill tracks, way closer to Fort William. http://eastcoastadventure.com/mtb-trails/

As Slivo says, head up to to Rostrevor: www.mountainbikeni.com/rostrevor

But make sure you have a fully licensed driver to accompany you on the drive up.... :D
