The missis in her greatness has asked me what I want for christmas so she can start saving .

I currently have the Gaggia Cubika. Which gets used daily without fail. Great wee machine but with faults . It takes to long to heat and the steam could be a bit more powerful.

I reckon I have around 200+ euro to play with.

The Gaggia classic is coming in around 230 new
The Rancilio Silvia is coming in around the same money second hand on ebay.

    What would you do?

Never had a Silvia but from what I have read its on a different leave compared to the Classic. I came very close to buying it a few years ago when the price was much lower than it is now, but I decided to go for a lever machine instead.

If I have to chose I would probably go for the Rancillio but its a bit of a risk of course as it will be a second hand machine, it will depend on how it has been looked after.

Both are good machines anyway... ;)
