Mobile phone protection

I've started mountain biking recently and wanted to bring my phone with me but am concerned I'll damage it. It's a Galaxy s4 so was wondering if anyone has advice on how to keep it protected?

Ziplock bag is a must to keep it dry, do you not have a MTBing rucksack to put it in? I have one of these

It has a waterproof pocket at the top for wallet and phone, and carries up to 3L of hydration, as well as all your spares.

You can buy a small hard case to put the phone in - I got mine in 53 Degrees North! I never wear a backpack and just put the phone in my jersey or jacket pocket and no issues at all (so far!)

Try googling Lifeproof. They make cases for iPhones and other smartphones. Not cheap but very good waterproof case that you can bounce of the ground and be confident it will protect your phone.

Its still not water proof so I use a zip lock, especially if its going in my jersey pocket.
