Have you got some of that "sure-weld" glue they sell on the counters in the co-op? should hold it long enough for it to fall off:rolleyes:

Hard luck, how will you go about sorting it?

doubt the sure weld would do the trick:), serious pressure on that to shear it like it has, what is it off, another shaft going through the middle of it?

It's the auger shaft from the gearbox of the diet feeder, one auger wasn't turning today and this was the result. Our theory is the last fella that had it out on trial dumped a full bale onto the top auger and pressure did the rest.

No it's the feeder for the main yard but gets sent out on trial as the FIL is bringing in a few more from Italy. I was not present when it was dropped back to hear any explanations if any :D

It's called a Concorde, I put photos of it up on a thread about diet feeders about a week ago or so. I thought the machine was bulletproof but I guess it ain't idiot proof

thats the italian designers for you, all style and no substance.

guy was probably mixing concrete with it. He took your FIL up literally when he said - it would mix anything

Wouldn't fault the machine on the last plank that had it. It's one of the best built feeders I've seen lately and a few has come through the workshop. Keenan is a soft machine IMO

saw the pics- a copy of a STAR machine from the 90s- pig ignorant if using high dm feeds

Would you believe that we took in a luclar feeder as trade in lately and it was in a landfill chewing up the plastics

Your bang on most star parts will fit it tho some of the rubber seals in the gearbox are slightly different

the newer keenans look soft I would agree. Older ones not bad but could have being designed better. Still though a simple farmer machine. For some reason I have taken an interest in the Conor tub. What do you make of the Strautman tubs?

Never had much experience with tubs, always look like they are ready to fall over. There is something in my head about the way they mix tho, I think the screw type of auger is troublesome or wears parts quicker I'm not sure what it is exactly

I this only a phase im going through, will get the welder out and reline the keenan. How are tubs at mixing meal or for mixing soda wheat?

Do your type sharp not take allot more power to drive? double auger in the bottom right?

Local guy had a few out on demo last year Abbey, Conor and Strautman. He would consider Strautman the Rolls Royce. didn't rate the Abbey. Bought Conor and is very happy with it.

Just remebered local cattle dealer, who feeds all year round has a twin tub Strautman for the last couple of years. Must be good if it's surviving with him

Never seen a Keenan run with a load but I found the way it works kinda strange with the big paddles and knives at the bottom ain't they, how do they mix bob

Yeah they would but our feeder has 4 augers in it, two at the bottom close together and two on top wider apart but an animal into mix and serious amount of blades in it.
