    Hi there
Hope this is in the right section. I have been offered a job installing sky as a sub contractor by a company called cvcs ltd. The problem is I cant find any info about them on the net and as far as I know sierra has the sky contract.
Any info would be appreciated as I am a little sceptical due to the fact I cant find any info. Thanks in advance

CVCS have been sub contracting from sierra for about 5 years. At this time every year new installers are trained for the increased work levels in the run into the christmas period. After christmas the work dries up and these installers are usually surplus to requirements.

    Hi there

Have you personal experience of this happening, would be interested to hear?? Or do you know why there is so little info online regarding this company CVCS Ltd? My husband thinking of applying for job with them but we can't risk not having work as we have kids and a mortgage to pay.

    Thanks

Yes i have personal experience, sub contracting means you don't get paid when there is no work, christmas is a busy time for sky so the sub contracting companies need extra installers. After christmas, starting from about the third week in january these installers are let go gradually due to lack of work. The thread linked above accurately describes what its like to work for sierra or one of its sub contracting companies.
