    Hello
I just bought a coconut for the first time. It is a very small coconut. Does anybody know how you prepare a coconut? Do you just drink the milk from the coconut? Can you eat the inside? Any insights would be appreciated
    Thanks
    Dick

poke out the eyes, 3 dark spots close together, they are tender spots and drain the milk out into a bowl. there is a rim around the circumference bash it around the rim in a circular fashion(doesnt have to be very hard) and it will crack open. Inside remove the meat from the shell. the meat can be grated or blended with water and strained to make coconut milk.

A few strong hits with the back of a large chopping knife will give you a nice clean split.

The liquid inside a coconut is coconut water. Coconut milk is made from the grated flesh.
