I am looking to get some mudguards for the wet winter to come. I was looking to get something robust this year. Its for a standard 700 x 25 c wheels/tyres. I had the crudracer 2 last year but one is broken so need to replace. I have mudguard eyes on the frame and forks so i could use something bolted on.

    What would you advise ?

    Sks chromoplastic.

Or for even more coverage and a big mudflap, the longboards.

if youre running 25s then you need xl raceblades, otherwise you might have issues attaching the front one

    He has mudguard eyelets.

Proper mudguards are the only way to go. Why bother with clip ons?

I looked at the sks ones on CRC and they look robust enough. I presume the bolts that come with them will fit my frame, and that i dont have to source bolts

I have the crudracers but the rear one got broken when removing them during the summer

Crud products do crudrace spares. GBP6.50 each shipped. You can get main guard, nose and tail set or a pair of stays (including mounts) for that price. I've kept a pair going this way for a couple of years now.

I don't know much about Mountainbikes, But I would have thought the 55 or 65mm size would suit?

    Do you have front suspension?

A mudguard will work better the closer it is,without rubbing, to the tyre.

Not sure how close you can get it to tyre. Can you lock suspension?

I ordered my mudguards from CRC tuesday lunchtime. had them this morning at 8.30 am........ now thats fast :D:D:D.

When fitting the front stays one of the bolts went of and has messed up the thread  I tried fitting it from the other side but it has gone on that side too  its a steel fork on this bike. i have zip tied it on but would prefer if the bolt would go in ???? is the option to now buy a set of screw taps or what else can be done..... dont want to have to buy a new fork :rolleyes::rolleyes: lol

waiting for mine from chainreation sure hope they fit my raleigh 753 road bike ,no eyelets on frame so made up a few clips that should work. crazy cycling without mudguards in winter.

Come with fixings for frames with no eyelets.

Anyone else not bothering with mudguards?

I have a 12km commute and don't mind the splash from the road. Maybe when the surface water is colder in the depths of winter I'll have another opinion. I like the minimalism of no mudguards!
