Amazon.de delivery time

    Trying to decide between ordering a phone from Amazon uk and DE, website is giving 5-6 day lead time from DE but its about €80 cheaper. Has anyone any experience of actual delivery times from amazon.de - might it be quicker than 5-6 days?

    I ordered a phone from Amazon.de last December.
    The order was placed on the 13th December( which was Thursday)
    It was delivered to the Parcel Motel depot in Belfast on the 17th (Monday )
    (There was probably no delivery on the Sunday)
    I collected in the nearest parcel Motel depot on the 18th

    An advantage of using the Parcel Motel delivery method is that you get charged a lower vat rate

    Depends on the size of the postage. A large envelope or smal package usually arrives within 2-3 days. Your phone should easily fall within the category small packet.

    Thanks I'm containing my impatience for now, if I could just stop myself checking the order status to see is it dispatched I'd be away with it :-)

    Completely depends on the item and where its coming from.

    Should have given you an expected dispatch date no ?

    They did; at the time of ordering it seemed quite a long time and I was wondering would it shorten on dispatch. Alas, no! It's currently in Surrey or Carlstadt NJ (depending on whether I check amazon's or I-parcels tracking!) and it looks like it will take the full 7 working days estimated at time of order.
