The biggest mistake was putting the game on that many different machines was and is there biggest flaw. Bf4 should of been a next gen release, with a year later then what they initially planed. I think EA are The biggest fault here going up against Blizzard-Activition.. For what prestege of a number one title?

I think personally DICE should be given lea way as far as Im concerned EA really are the bad guys on this one.

I thought this mantle was for the newer only cards for now with support for the others coming later . I just installed the new beta 14.1 driver and when I start BF4 I have the option of using mantle ? I have a 7870 .

I knew the 7000's were going to be covered but I obviously misread the blog about which graphics chips were going to be supported from the off .

I tried it there for a map or two , initial impressions were , everything looks a bit more shiny but if felt a big more laggy . My Fraps has stopped working so I can't do a frame rate check for now . Win 7 , HD7870 , AMD FX-8350 , 8 GB Ram .

Game is really smooth & plays A LOAD better for me now since the new patch. Had not played in a few months & was actually happy to get back to it

Quick update on my situation, I was hoping the new mantle driver would solve my problem - and it did...kind of.
Using DX11 everything is back to normal, with a nice frame rate boost from the new patch.
Using mantle the amount of RAM BF4.exe uses skyrockets - 40-50% total physical memory used when running DirectX , to 80-90% using mantle - and leads to off the wall cpu spikes which causes stutter in game. Hopefully this gets fixed when the R9 270 cards are optimized as it does give a noticeable frame rate improvement.

Overall pretty pleased with the game now.

Mantle introduced me to micro stuttering, with 4670k & R9 290 I blame the devs again

what wpeon are you runnng with for back rages I'm only level 15 at the moment so I've got the ak5c at 300 kills and I love its like the perfect all rounder ( im sure there are ther guns but just getting 500+ kills per gun moving on no your self

Usually an LMG. Finishing the single player mode and choosing a certain option will unlock the M249, which is a beast quite frankly. Load that baby up with a silencer, laser sight and a stubby grip and you're good to go.

i cant finishe the single player mode keeps crashing when you have the battle with the tanks.

Coming from COD, I can appreciate the scale of what they're trying to do. its a pity that its not working properly, crazy potential for greatness being squandered.

Personally my problems with the game are mostly with the feel of the game itself and only tempered by the technical issues. Hopefully lessons will be learned by everyone.

And the rollercoaster that is BF4 quality continues, yesterday seemed better, today as bad as every.
A few choice "fun" things that happened today (I say day, this is all within less than an hours play):

Killed by 1 sniper round from across the map (from 100 health) - no headshot icon

An LAV my rpg was heading for disappeared and then reappeared once the rocket has exploded, taking no damage

And my favourite - waiting behind cover in the one the trenches on paracel for the little orange blip to round the corner to certain death...and suddenly I'm dead, killed by him before he even rounded the corner. Think about it - he had time to round the corner, spot me behind cover, aim, fire and get a kill, all before anything registered on my screen !

Seriously considering picking up BF3 again for a while until things improve, it's not perfect either but it's better than this.

It was running fine for my on the PS3 until this evening now it keeps freezing after every round.

I genuinely have had zero problems since long before Christmas. Can't fault the game on that front.....I did go through a period of constant crashes and disconnects at the start, but since about November, it's been 100% stable for me.

Same here and with all the people I play with. Most crashing now is an issue on the users side. Only time I drop out of a game is when my internet clicks off.

Yes it's very stable now, I never get crashes - unless as said my internet goes out.
My issues with the game aren't with stability, it's with "netcode".

Here's the problems taken from BF4 Top Issue Tracker (all are listed as 'investigating'):

Desynchronized game world where objects have different states for different players
Rubber banding issues for some players with solid Internet connections
Some instances of no hit effects and no damage to opponent in your sights
Damage received is sometimes delayed by a few frames
Sudden frame rate drops during certain in-game events

If DICE can get fixes for these five points then the game could finally be at a level we should expect from a AAA title.

Might do some on the other maps as well.

Metro is pretty much broken unless your on the Russian side,it might be grand on PC because where you u can change the player count but for console its just a constant rain of grenades and lvgs on the stairs ,4 times the amount in bf3.

I was a metro whore in bf3 but I have to say operation locker is a much better map imo

Yeah its nearly impossible to get up the stairs never mind actually cap B, for some stupid reason the ruskie spawn is even closer to B in 2nd Assault and they can have it pretty much secured by the time you reach the stairs :mad:

While I'm here the round of Air Superiority that uses only attack helis is way better than the jets mainly because there is actual tactics in choosing whether to take a heli or spawn as gunner, so much wasted potential with the game mode.

Don't usually snipe but got a kill yesterday and said I may as well unlock the MTar. LMG kill - check, grenade kill - check. Last few minutes ran around trying to get a defib kill. Went about 0-15. Several times just had it only for the guy to turn round and shoot me in the face. Very rage inducing. Realised this morning all I needed was an AR kill not a defib.

Trying to unlock the MP7 yesterday as well. Spent most of the aftenoon being shredded by Choppers I was trying to take out with the stinger and that other one Igle??. Vehicle hit....95 Vehicle hit....95 over and over again. Eventually gave up then unlocked when not even trying lastnight.m
