Tracking app

Is there any tracking app for the android which will show the route live to my wife at home on the computer?

I generally use MapMyRide but as far as I can see it doesn't do live tracking on the website. Or have I missed something?

I tried Glympse, and it's a great idea & simplicity itself, but the problem there is that the route covered disappears so you only see the route over the last 10 minutes or something - when you look at the live tracking on the computer you see the 'tail' disappear. Great app, but designed for seeing if your friends are on the way, not for tracking someone's whole route.

Have thought about this before when off on long rides, surely there is someway to sync a garmin with an iphone or whatnot.

The garmin 510's now have it as a feature I believe but you might have to by one for the wife!

Endomondo can do this. It uses data on your phone obviously.

I use app2find when on myt in woods at night during the winter. Works with Android on Samsung s3.
Gave permission to my wife and brother to access my location in case of accident

I think you give a password or something to whoever wants to follow your ride and they can follow you live - they dont need to have a garmin 510, just access to t'internet and the password.

You can use google latitude on your phone and share your location with another person. That person can then view your location.

Yeah, I should have said I have an Android phone, the wife doesn't have a smartphone.

Glympse is simple in that you send a link to whoever you want to allow track you. They don't need to log on to a website. Glympse also shows speed.

Google latitude I think shows your current location but doesn't track your route?

Ideally such an app would show current speed and distance covered so far.

Mapmyride has live tracking, but only if you're a paying customer.

Google latitude doesn't exist anymore lads!!! Google got rid of it at the start of August!
