    Hi folks.

No hot water in hot tank (domestic bath, showers etc), BUT there is warmth in the water, but only luke warm.

So the element must still be working? It is hot tank that has "Sink" and "Bath" settings.

And the central heating has not been on so its not hot water from that (different system).

Any ideas? I cant find any drips or ways that the hot water can be draining off.

But there is still some warmth at the top of the hot tank.

    Thanks...

Are there 2 elements in the hot tank for "Sink" and "Bath" or just 1?

I'm presuming 2 and that the quick heating element is faulty? Mind you. the water is heating very slowly on "Sink" which normally should be the quick heating element?

    Any comments welcome..

Is there 2 immersions or one?
If 2 are fitted you have the top one for sink & the lower one for bath.

If there is only one fitted, then you have a dual immersion which has two in the one unit.

Try heating on sink first to see if the top half of the cylinder gets hot.
Then try the bath and nearly all the cylinder should heat.
If one of the above test fails then one side of the immersion is gone, you will need to replace it for a new one. If they both fail then it will be the thermostat is turned down or faulty, if faulty they can be got separately.

Do not remove cover unless you know what your doing and POWER is OFF!!

    Thanks Frostop

The sink used to heat up the tank quickly.

Now it doesnt, but there is some heat when on that setting, but it takes ages.
So we turn on the Bath setting at night (I gather this is an energy saving device, or rather to benefit from cheaper electricity). And the water will be hot in the morning.

In fact if its on either setting, it's still heats up, but very very slowly. So I guess one element is gone?

When you say it will need to be replaced,do you mean the element?

    Many thanks for your post.

Yes, it will be the quickest way to sort it than having to pay an extra call out to identify the problem and end up changing it after.
