A young friend of mine who's a single parent went to the UK earlier in the year in the hope of getting a job. She has 2 young children. Things didn't work out and she wants to come back to be close to friends and family. Would she have to go through the habitual residence test? She was on BTEA previously and her children…

A young friend of mine who's a single parent went to the UK earlier in the year in the hope of getting a job. She has 2 young children. Things didn't work out and she wants to come back to be close to friends and family. Would she have to go through the habitual residence test? She was on BTEA previously and her children were born in Ireland and have their father here.
So would she qualify for One parent family payment and rent allowance?
