Matching tiles for kitchen and patio

We're getting a new kitchen built and need to pick tiles for it. I think having the same tile in the kitchen as the new patio would look great.

The patio tile must be able for the irish weather, be non slip, light in colour. Both patio and kitchen tile must be easy to maintain and not show every speck of dirt. I don't know if there is much choice if we go for exactly the same tile for inside and outside.

    Has anyone any suggestions?

I'm not a builder or tiler etc. but am involved in renovating a house currently...so spending a lot of time in DIY shops. I guess you are trying to "extend" the feel of the kitchen out into the patio.... Wouldn't say that it will be possible to have exactly the same tile. You might want to compromise and just go for Tiles that are similar but not the same...otherwise you'll end up with something that's not quite fulfilling either job properly.

I did a few showrooms at lunchtime and found a new range by Geotiles in House of Tiles. They have a matt quite smooth version in 60x60 and an R11 version in 60x30. The R11 means its nonslip. It felt like fine sandpaper to touch. They are porcelain which is fine for outside and is frost proof.

Another option in pretend travertine porcelain inside and real travertine that is the same colour outside. Of course the colour and design needs to suit mine and the wifes taste.

I liked the geotile but herself hasn't seen it yet.
